Do you know that taking better care of your scalp will help you improve your hair growth?

During our research into scalp health and hair loss prevention we invested in a digital dermal microscope which magnifies the skin by x10. Using it on the scalp reveals the health and condition of the scalp and what problems that can arise. Under a microscope it becomes clear how much dead skin and product build up is present on the scalp, especially if it is not being cleansed properly. As this dead skin and product builds up it forms a thick layer that makes it increasingly more difficult for the new hair shafts to grow through, causing each hair fibre to be thinner and weaker than it should be. One of the ways to ensure you have a healthy scalp is by regularly clearing the scalp of the excess dead skin and built up product you can do this by using a scalp detox treatment such as our En-Root Scalp Treatment and massaging the scalp.

We designed our scalp treatment to specifically work with and protect the natural oil production of the scalp and when applied with regular scalp massage it can dramatically improve hair growth potential. This is because scalp massage stimulates blood flow to the scalp surface ensuring a healthy blood flow supply to the hair follicle. The nutrients needed for hair grow are supplied via the blood so by increasing the blood flow, hair growth potential is maximised. Several essential oils found within our scalp oil such as Rosemary and Peppermint further stimulate hair growth as they improve blood circulation and stimulate the follicles.

Essential Oils

There are over 11 essential oils within our golden blend all with amazing properties. Essential oils have been used for thousands of years for treating literally all known ailments. Naturally extracted from plants the powerful oils contain compounds known to have therapeutic and healing properties. Widely used in eastern medicine, homeopathy as well as in aromatherapy they are seen as natures elixir’s for health and wellbeing. Essential oils also have many known uses in treating hair health. From improving hair condition, shine and strength to clearing up dandruff and  promoting hair growth. Through our extensive research on natural remedies for improving scalp health and promoting hair growth we discovered some of the best essential oils out there for the unique hair health benefits. We set about creating a product that combines the best essential oils for their active compounds, all within one scalp detoxifying treatment.

What makes our treatment so good?

One of the downsides to using essential oils as well as coconut oil directly on the scalp is that they can be difficult to remove from the hair and often needs a lot of shampooing to thoroughly rinse free. The beauty of our scalp treatment is its ability to rinse out of hair leaving no trace of oils. We created the formula to contain an emulsifier, allowing the product to completely change its consistency when rinsed with water. The rich oil, transforms into a milky liquid when water is added making it easy to rinse and remove fully from the hair and scalp.

We recommend to use our scalp oil is as a pre-wash treatment, as it helps to remove dead skin and product build up from the scalp. Being a scalp cleanser, you may find that you only need to perform one shampoo after using it and some people with thicker, curly and textured hair may find they don't need shampoo to remove it at all. A bit like co-washing, we designed our scalp treatment to be a potential nourishing alternative to shampoo for cleansing the scalp. The versatility continues as the oils have magnificent hair health benefits too. I recommend adding a few drops of the oil to our Daily Calma Conditioner to create a moisture rich repair masque when applied to the mid lengths and ends of pre washed damp hair and left for a few hours before rinsing off.
