Tea Tree Oil clinically proven to benefit your scalp

An essential oil derived from the leaves of the Melaleuca Alternifolia native to Australia, Tree Oil has numerous skin healing properties that have made it a staple of aboriginal cultures for thousands of years but there’s even more reasons you should be applying this wonder ingredient on a regular basis. Read on to find out why.

Dandruff -

Seborrheic dermatitis more commonly known as Dandruff is one of the most common scalp problems. It causes scaly skin, flakes and greasy red patches on the scalp and can range in severity.

One of the causes thought to increase dandruff is an increased sensitivity to a type of fungus that lives on the scalp called Malassezia. As Tea Tree oil has magnificent natural anti-fungal properties as well as anti-bacterial and anti-microbial properties that make it an excellent treatment for those that experience dandruff and other scalp issues.

This is backed by a clinical study involving a shampoo containing 5% tea tree oil. Participants who used the shampoo had a 41% reduction in dandruff after 4 weeks of use

Tea Tree oil is a key active ingredient within our En-Root scalp treatment that unlike other medicated dandruff products that can strip the scalp of its own natural moisture, helps to control dandruff whilst keeping the moisture of the scalp balanced and the skin well nourished.

Reducing itchiness, irritation and inflammation

Tea tree oil's skin healing properties can really help to calm an irritated scalp. This is because Tea Tree oil is an Anti-Inflammatory and will help to calm and sooth the skin of scalp especially when combined with moisturising oils such as olive, lavender and hemp.

Realising your hairs potential

The combined cleansing and exfoliating affect of Tea Tree Oil along with Salicylic Acid helps to remove barriers that can affect hair growth by gently dissolving dead skin cells, build-up and unclogging pores in order to maximise hair growth

Tea Tree Oil is just one of the amazing ingredients within our En-Root Scalp treatment that will help to transform your scalp in to the ideal base for growing strong, healthy hair.
