What is male pattern hair loss?

Whilst both men and women experience thinning hair, the approach is slightly different due to male pattern hair loss being a result of androgenic follicle shrinkage. This type of hair loss in men is generally hereditary meaning you can be predisposed to follicle sensitivity which is where DHT (Dihydrotestosterone) a derivative of Testosterone, binds to the hair follicle and shrinks it over time. This causes the hair to become thinner and thinner with each progressive cycle until the follicle no longer produces a hair strand at all.

Is Ginseng known to have hair growth properties?


Some studies have shown that ginseng may help to stimulate hair follicles and promote hair growth. For example, a study published in the Journal of Medicinal Food found that ginseng extract increased the number of hair follicles and the thickness of hair in mice. Another study published in the Journal of Dermatological Science found that a topical ginseng extract improved hair thickness and density in men with androgenetic alopecia, a common form of hair loss.
